Visual Art

Fine-art photography is photography created in line with the vision of the photographer as artist, using photography as a medium for creative expression. The goal of fine-art photography is to express an idea, a message, or an emotion.

Often, these images are used as displays ... hanging on a wall of a home, office or public building. They create an atmosphere, relate a feeling, or preserve a memory.

Great photography creates imagery which tells a story, and encourages the viewer to look at it over and over, relishing in every detail.

My Approach

Artistic imagery is typically the result of careful planning ... and often a lot of patience.

A great image is one that fully expresses what the photographer feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.  The core of this is composition, which is probably the most powerful tool we have in landscape photography.  It involves not only how the image is composed but how it relates to the message we want to relay.  And the other component of a great photography is the lighting, which most often requires much advance planning ... time of day, location of sun/moon, weather, clouds, etc.

Concours Cars

A Concours d'Elegance is to collector cars, what an art gallery is to paintings and sculpture. Beautifully maintained and restored automobiles are inspiring to view as they are "art on wheels."
